Becoming a Member of Adams

As with all volunteer fire companies, we are in need of more volunteers to better serve the community. We offer all the required training, equipment and personal protection gear along with other incentives, including a LOSAP Pension Plan and life insurance.

To become a Firefighter you must be 18 years of age. (Junior firefighters can join at 16 years of age but must have parental permission and are restricted in what they can do), pass a physical and complete the state Fire Fighter 1 class.

We also need members who may not want to or able to fight fires but still would like to help out in serving the community with no responding responsibilities. Also located at our fire station is the Adams Fire Company Auxiliary, which is an independent organization which helps support the fire company activities.

If you feel you would like to join our organization and live in the Town of Wheatfield or live within three miles from our stations please fill out the form below, and we will give you all the information about joining this exciting and rewarding community based organization.
